Hello, I just recently moved to the Cordova area and live INSIDE the city limits of Memphis. The thing that confuses me is that the postal services refers that the "city" I live in is "Cordova", TN.(I thought Cordova was the community's name I lived in, not the official "CITY".) That doesn't make since to me. My trash can says "City of Memphis", the fire station behind me says "Memphis Fire Department", and the only law enforcement patrol cars I see in my neighborhood say "Memphis Police", not "Cordova Police". So pretty much my question is, Why doesn't my formal city address say I live in MEMPHIS, TN? Every other community of the city I know of (Whitehaven, Berclair, Midtown, Raleigh, Frayser, East Memphis, Hickory Hill, etc.) has their formal address listed as "Memphis, TN"; why not the annexed parts of Cordova?
Thanks.
Dan
